Menale Fekeru

Menale was born in 1991 in Adisu Kera, Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. He loved art, and he always tried to draw. One summer, their father took him to art school and he started art.  He attended Ale School of fine arts and design with a Painting, Mural art, and visual arts degree in 2014.


Art Style

His paintings include Ethiopian and African themes. He tries to raise various ideas, recent and old, in his works. Most of Menale’s artworks stem from the concept of genealogy. He believes the past has significance to who people are today. He uses different art forms and styles to express his ideas. Geometrical shapes, powerful colors, Ethiopian patterns, composition, and the use of different media are some methods of his expression.

Who is Menale

Menale has been a part of various exhibitions such as Pushkin center in 2011, Oromo cultural museum in 2017, Ethiopian National Museum in 2020 and 2021 etcetera. He is also a professional member of the Heber art group and Ethiopian art associations group.
